Thanks for reading The Audacity Gambit (if you read it, if not, c’MON)
Well, that’s done. I wrote a pretty-close-to-novel-length book in a year and serialised it here. I’m not super sure as to what I’m going to do with it now, but here’s the plan:
- Sometime after my birthday in April, re-read it as a whole and edit it. That should be enough time to give my brain some distance to look at the thing more objectively.
And yeah, that’s all the plan I got. Did you read The Audacity Gambit? Did you like it? Hate it? Could you tell me?
I mean, for realsies folks. I wrote this thing to get it out of my head, but now what. I don’t know if I should go the self-publishing route or if something serialised online like this is worth shopping around to real book people. Or should I just leave it sit here and call it good?
So what do I do next? No idea.

well, you know i loved it. and i would love it in a real hold in my hands book to keep forever. i really feel like there is more story that wasn’t written and could be fleshed out even more. maybe more on what happened in the past, more on the adult characters so you get a better feel for them, a little more on the last few sections. (that end sections did feel a bit short to me.) well, i love hte story and never say no to having a bit more of it to read.
i don’t suppose it could hurt to try poking around with a few publishers, just to see. but self publishing could be great as well. book book book!

I liked it quite a lot (and felt guilty for not having time to say so every segment). I agree with trina that it could be fleshed out more, and I was a little startled when it ended (it’s done? Now? It is? It really is?) but I thought you had a great heroine and story.
My vote is for revision!

Aw guys!
I am going to edit and revise at this SO HARD. I have to admit that as I’ve skimmed each update I can see where it needs work and I think that’s great. I hate when I am (accidentally) precious about something. A friend of mine sounds like he has a hell of a review and I am dying to hear it. I would like to tell this story well!
