Webrings
New Old Gaming Blogring, it’s a bunch of TTRPG blogs
Yes We Blog! Webring: it’s folks who are blogging! You remember those, come dive in.
Knife Beetle: a curated webring for longform, narative-driven webcomics.
Blogs
Groove Pit: TTRPG nerdery, yeah yeah spreadsheets and more!
Opusanglicanum: Lots of textile work/embroidery from ancient Greek to the Tudor era.
Robayre: Crafts and so so so much creativity and inspiration!
The Bloggess: classic blog style and copious relatable weirdness.
Gordo y Mas: A collection and blog of the cartoon art of Gus Arriola
Comics & More
Blamensir: like a point and click game but also just a very fun way to explore a little world of medieval beasties and wonders that is also a portfolio site. I can’t describe it, just go take a gander (best for non-mobile devices).
False Knees: Bird comics, short and long.
Newsletters (and serialised fiction)
70s Sci-Fi Art: It’s what it says on the tin! They’ve also a Tumblr.
The Hypothesis: Annalee Newitz’s newsletter, full of everything from history of psyops to lost cities to just general great info.
Demo Disc: A weekly selection of great game demos on Steam.
Queer Enigma: The home of two (two!) great fantasy-mystery webserials.
A Bird for a Heart: a fantasy fiction podcast that also has scripts/transcripts, a boon for those of us who cannot listen to podcasts! Michael also does Nothing Is Wrong… which is a horror fiction podcast that feels like Goosebumps in all the best ways.
Postcard Past/Present Photo: Comparisons of locations in the past with what they look like now (if you know of rephotographing, it’s like/is that)
Derin Edala: Lots of short stories and also two currently ongoing serialised novels.
Places
The La Brea Tar Pits: My favourite museum ever, not just for the fossils.
California Botanic Garden: A native plant garden that also supports conservation, research and horticulture. This link goes to their “What’s Beautiful Today” page, which is always a joy.
